Dr. Cynthia Elderkin, DDS
Dr. Cynthia (Cindy) Elderkin earned her B.S. degree in Zoology from North Carolina State University in 1983, completing her degree in three years. In 1987, she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. She was chosen for the GPR (General Practice Residency) program there.
Dr. Elderkin chose, however, to return to her hometown of Raleigh to join a general dental practice and begin her lifelong dream of becoming a dentist. She established her general dental practice in 1989 and has enjoyed assisting patients with their dental needs and getting to know each patient individually.
Dr. Elderkin married her high school sweetheart, Steve, and has two wonderful children and one fabulous dog. In her spare time, Dr. Elderkin enjoys reading, quilting, stained glass work, making Chrismons, cooking, and involvement with her church. She is currently an elder in her church and is active on many committees. In addition, Dr. Elderkin has been to Bolivia three times with dental/medical missions, where she loved treating patients and practicing her Spanish.
Dr. Elderkin is an active member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, the Raleigh/Wake County Dental Society, and a local study club composed of accomplished specialists in the dental field.
